War Story
The Hunnic housing bonus is a bonus with many faces: not only does it save you wood and villager seconds, it also gives you an incredible advantage in case of retreat. In case your town is steamrolled by siege rams or whatever devastating army and there is still a chance for a comeback, Huns have a definitive edge. Whereas all civs have to rebuild their houses again, Huns can just spread around the map and build up their economy again. Huns don’t need to spend wood on the new houses, no villager seconds and besides that: no houses also means your accommodation necessities aren’t visible to anyone.
Anyways, this information is for later: let’s see how the game starts. Even though half of the map consisted of fish-filled seas, goodboy decided to not play the grush game and land instead. Maybe not the smartest decision but it’s bound to give an interesting game. With some back and forth fighting and the advantage switching sides more than often it was waiting till the castle age before goodboy managed to make a good push. With a very mixed and versatile army he managed to slowly push Duck back, but he crossed the map via the huge shallows and started to build a base (including castles) on goodboy’s island. Both were now pushing each other from each others side and soon goodboy controlled Duck’s side and vice versa.
At this point I started to wonder if goodboy isn’t secretly of Russian decent because the map that Duck just conquered was nearly treeless. Forcing Duck to return to his original side for trees and to finally exterminate goodboy. And thus the great switcheroo came done and undone.
